Walking Gently: Indigenous Ethics in Research Workshop

This introductory workshop is facilitated by Lloyd Desjarlais, Dean of Indigenous Initiatives, and Tyra Hercina, Indigenous Learning Designer and Scholar, and is offered through a collaborative partnership between CTLS and Indigenous Initiatives.

Designed for researchers at all stages, the session supports introducing  participants in understanding the ethical responsibilities, historical context, and relational accountability required when conducting research with and about Indigenous Peoples, This workshop is essential to RDP’s Reconcili-Action commitments and to strengthening trust, respect, and reciprocity between the institution and Indigenous communities through relationship-based, culturally grounded research practice. This workshop will highlight to participants the people and methodology behind the policy you may know and help participants to see why Indigenous perspectives are impactful and important in research.
